Pornhub to accept cryptocurrencies

The biggest problem of Bitcoin currently may be the lack of possible places to spend the coins. It has become strongly speculative assets. However, with more companies exploring blockchain technology and benefits from fast crypto transactions, it may have a chance of becoming a currency once again.

Verge

Verge cryptocurrency is anonymity-focused like for example Monero or Zcash. However, Verge has adopted a different approach compared to other similar coins. In order to become more private and anonymous, they don’t rely that much on improved cryptographic solutions. Instead, they use Tor and I2P network. It allows to hide specific transactions’ IP addresses, as well as locations.

Corey Price, Pornhub’s VP, told in an interview that Verge offers “convenience and security”. The whole platform has been very excited to open their site to cryptocurrencies. “Not only is this an exciting announcement for us and the adult entertainment industry, it’s exciting for the crypto space. History has proven that the adult entertainment industry plays a critical role in adoption for innovative technology. We saw that with VHS, Beta Max, credit card payment icons and, most recently, VR goggles. We expect to see widespread adoption of crypto and blockchain in short order.”

As there are still ongoing discussions and lack of proper regulations when it comes to cryptocurrency industry, the company has a legal team and accountants to assure “the legitimacy of the adoption.”
