The media company of ViacomCBS Inc. has announced a strategic partnership with the Non-fungible token company of RECUR, to create NFTs focusing on the company’s ‘iconic IP and cherished franchises that transcend generations.’ ViacomCBS is the parent company of Nickelodeon, MTV, CBS, BET, Comedy Central, Paramount Pictures, and Showtime Networks Inc.
The NFTs will be launched in the Spring of 2022 and will focus on building communities around shows and films across ViacomCBS’s brands. The NFTs will further ‘encourage peer-to-peer engagement and facilitate innovative ways for users to unlock new experiences.’
Pam Kaufman, President of ViacomCBS Consumer Products, explained that the NFTs will provide fans a chance to be part of the broader experience of popular shows and films spanning multiple generations. He said:

In teaming up with RECUR to create an NFT platform dedicated to ViacomCBS IP, voracious collectors and first-time NFT buyers alike will find unique opportunities to own a piece of their favorite franchises
The NFT project will take a chain-agnostic approach and will also accept payments through credit and debit cards, rather than just cryptocurrencies.
