Announced on August 3rd, Coinbase Custody is exploring the addition of additional crypto assets for storage but not for trading. Coinbase Custody is a custodial service for institutional clients optimized for storing large amounts of cryptocurrency in a highly secure way.
Jamie Dimon returns to Bitcoin Bashing
The JPMorgan CEO has returned to Bitcoin criticism after sending mixed signals in the past. According to a Bloomberg report, Dimon recently called cryptocurrencies a “scam” saying he had “no interest” in the world’s largest digital currency. Dimon has a waffled in his support of cryptocurrencies, emerging as an early critic then softening his stance as cryptocurrencies gained acceptance.
Early Bitcoin Developer to Build New Crypto
As reported by CoinDesk, Martti ‘Sirius’ Malmi is working on a new cryptocurrency named AXE. Malmi was an early contributor to the Bitcoin codebase alongside creator Satoshi Nakamoto. The new project combines Malmi’s Identifi online reputation system with decentralized database system GUN to build a more decentralized and censor-proof network.
