Overstock.com’s tZero Completes Token Sale at $134 Million, but Bigger Investment Is Coming
Though they had originally targeted $250 million, Coindesk reports that security token exchange tZero has completed its sale with a raise of $134 million. But the Hong Kong-based group GSR Capital has agreed to a $400-million deal purchasing $270 million of tZero equity at a $1.5 billion valuation, some Overstock.com equity, and tZero Security Tokens worth $30 million.
Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne said, in a statement yesterday:
“When GSR completes its planned investments, we should have over half-a-billion dollars. We believe this will provide ample capitalization with which to build a company that can upend global capital markets.”
