Ripple Increases 20 Percent after Unconfirmed Rumors of Partnership with Western Union

The market value of Ripple’s XRP increased 20 percent after unconfirmed rumors that Western Union (WU) is going adopt its technology for global remittances. Ripple’s Twitter account announced on January 5, 2018 that it had reached agreements with three of the five largest money transfer companies. According to Business Insider, Ripple and WU previously partnered on a pilot program for distributed payment protocols in 2015.

According to Coin Telegraph, cryptocurrency exchange platforms have been adding an average of over 100,000 users per day. Many exchanges have struggled to keep up with the rate of new user. CoinHive Injected into BlackBerry Mobile Website to Mine Cryptocurrency

The BlackBerry Mobile website was hacked, taking advantage of the website’s users’ computers to mine cryptocurrency. According to Beta News, the hacker embedded a CoinHive mining tool into the website, in addition to a number of other sites. On Reddit, CoinHive claims it has suspended the hacker from using its platform.

Siacoin reached a new all-time high market price of USD 0.093 per coin. According to the Merkle, the price makes Siacoin is the 22nd largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
