Singapore Aims To Reduce Processing Time For Blockchain-Based Fintech Patents

Singapore’s Intellectual Property Office has announced it will expedite the patent-granting process for blockchain-based fintech-related applications. According to CoinDesk, the office is aiming to reduce the approval time from two years to six months. The office wrote in a statement, “The incorporation of blockchain technology to improve the security and efficiency of clearing and settlement across borders for transaction and payment is deemed as a Fintech invention.”

Chilean Courts Order Reopening Of Bank Accounts Belonging To Cryptocurrency Exchanges

Chile’s appeals court has ordered the reopening of the bank accounts belonging to the Buda, Orionx, and CryptoMarket cryptocurrency exchanges. According to Bitcoinist.com, the bank accounts were registered with Itau Corpbanca, Bank of Nova Scotia, and state-owned Banco del Estado de Chile.

A Swiss cryptocurrency owner lost a shopping bag containing his Ledger hardware wallet. According to The Merkle, the victim’s lost wallet has approximately USD 815,000 stored on it. The police are searching for the wallet, and the owner has offered a 40,000 Swiss franc reward for anyone who recovers it.
